Call for Artists
Our program in the area of musical specialization provides opportunities for international residence open to any nationality. The Celam grants residence for eight people per specialty, 60% of the course cost, 100% of registration fee, plus CWB airport to Celam transportation round trip, breakfast and much more amenities.
You could obtain financing to complete the cost of the course and air ticket on the DutchCulture platform.

The Latin American Music Center -Celam- establishes in Curitiba, Brazil, as a space for Latin American musical expression, the "Claudio Arrau International Piano Chair". Of international call, is dedicated to the specialized education of different musical disciplines through Master Classes given by prestigious teachers of music, where eight to ten students per course are favored with free residence, during one to three weeks, and other important incentives; existing the opportunity for action and experiences in connection with the artistic, cultural and private scene through presentations
The Chair draws itself as much as a training center for high-level instrumental piano from the Latin American repertoire, as well as from other musical disciplines; emerging as a bridge builder between academia, civil society, local communities, research and the cultural industry; favoring the diversity of cultural expressions and the establishment of new teaching initiatives that add value and contribute to enrich existing formal education programs.

The participant of each Masterclass must add, at the indicated dates of their course, two days of residence before the arrival and one day of residence after the departure
In the programming of the Masterclasses some related activity is planned on Sundays.

The lodging for participants is provided at the headquarters of the "Caludio Arrau International Piano Course" of Celam in Curitiba, Brazil. The rooms are assigned by the Instructor. When the students stay together the atmosphere is enjoyable and that allows a better understanding, as well as the exchange of experiences and ideas among the students from different latitudes

Participants will be given all the necessary information support for their arrival, stay and departure from Brazil from the moment we are informed of the schedules, airline, and so on.

Round-trip air ticket from where you live to Afonso Pena International Airport, Curitiba, Brazil (It is usually no more than USD 1,300)

The selected participants must cover their own travel and health insurance costs. In addition, they must take into account the visa requirements necessary to enter Brazil, depending on their nationality.
Application guidelines
Participants must complete and submit the form of the Celam / Claudio Arrau International Piano Chair. The interested party must provide the following information: A brief synopsis describing the professional career of the student and a dossier of previous works, if any. If the files, videos, images and / or demos exceed the size of our platform, participants must send a link (s) to the site (s) where the content is hosted.

CA / Music Master Classes in different musical disciplines. Residency at Celam “Cátedra Internacional de Piano Claudio Arrau” Curitiba, Brasil
Description
The Latin American Music Center is proud to announce an open international call for the year 2018 addressed to eight musicians , by announced specialty, to participate in master classes aimed at professional development with residence at the headquarters of the Celam / International Piano Chair Claudio Arrau in Curitiba, Brazil. The period of residence varies according to the musical discipline and ranges from 10 days to two and three weeks at different times of the year; only one of the Master classes is taught in Europe.
The objective of the call is the realization of Master Classes given by a prestigious guest teacher in order to impart advice, technical and musical methods that contribute to the achievement and improvement of the participant, with specific individual support in the technique, the interpretation of the program, the enhancement of their expressive musical power and the promotion of their musical personality, so that during their stay they can prepare for a concert, an audition, an examination or develop a program of their own choice and pleasure.
Celam / International Piano Chair Claudio Arrau is a high level learning space under collaborative residence. During the period of residence, Celam provides the resident with access to the facilities and services, bedroom, a living room with a Grotrian Steinweg piano of 3.20 m for the master classes and another vertical one; looking to be necessary other nearby spaces for practices as the case may be.
Participants to the call duly registered, must exhibit during the course of their stay, if the teacher so requires, a presentation either publicly or privately of their work and achievements.
The participant must accept the following:

The residence does not imply economic endowment of any kind

Participants must bring all their study materials, such as: sheet music, music stand etc.

It is required that the student possess the technical level sufficient to approach the proposed program.

In some cases the classes are collective and in others each student would receive an academic class hour, and the rest of the participants themselves could attend as listeners.

The selected participants agree on the completion of the master class by presenting all the works proposed by the teacher.

The selected participants agree to stay for the dates indicated in the call in question.

The presentation of their classes and public or private presentation of their work could include the participation of other people interested in attending any workshop or show open to the public.

The selected participants agree to live in Celam headquarters with the other registered participants in a cordial and collaborative way.

The registered participant will be granted a free membership as a member of the Celam and must open a free account on WikiCelam.

Basic information about your profile, and your participation in the Masterclass, must be registered on the WikiCelam free access platform.

The organization agrees to encourage and promote the student for the development of projects.

Once the residence period has ended, participants agree to leave the facility within a maximum period of 1 day. After this period, Celam reserves the right to suggest other locations more convenient for your stay.
Outcome
Celam implements this program with the objective of the masterful improvement of the participant by teachers in the different disciplines of music within a collaborative participation between pairs of different nationalities.
Accommodation Information
During the residency period, Celam will provide the resident with a shared bedroom and a area for the development of their class, as well as provide access to the institution’s facilities and available tools.
Technical Information
Celam / International Piano Chair Claudio Arrau is a space dedicated to the intense study of different themes and disciplines of music. Each master class is directed by a recognized teacher, specialized in a particular area of knowledge, who is there to respond to the different needs of the various students.
The demonstration of the work achieved works as meeting points between peers and the society where the participant exhibits the mastery achieved in the master class. It also offers the opportunity for a series of possible activities, such as: small workshops, presentations and demonstrations, as a space for socialization, presentation to the general public, companies and specialized personalities.
